just wonder what would be a good product to use on rims.

powdercoating is a durable choice, although pricey

spray paint can work on the cheap. if you mask them off properly , use a lot of coats, and use some clear gloss as well. I did this for some 5 spoke alloys on my rx-7, and they came out nice.

Duplicolor makes a wheel paint in a spray can that would be the cheapest way....

^^ yep.. did that to mine and ran roughly 35-40 bucks total to do it so it would last pretty long.. but i had to first get my wheels rebalanced with weights just on the back. then i got a masked off everything

got a wire wheel and small grinder and got the wheels down to bare aluminum, then used 4 heavy coats of primer, wetsanded with 400grit, put lite tack coat of the wheel paint on, then did 6 coats fo the paint and 4 coats fo the clear they sell.. if u get 3 cans of color, 2 cans of clear that will easily be enough, it was for my 16" Z wheels anywyay.. there is a post i cant remember what it was called but someone did a how to on how they did their 17s which was a great how to for any wheel..

the paint rob is talking about is what i used in graphite, its called Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Coating

It takes about a full day if you do it right. Mine have been done since April and still look new...

have had em done since the first of january.. i spent 3 days.. only becuz i had a lift to keep the car on and it wasnt accessible for others.. but basically one day but i gave em 2 days to cure really good.. which honestly in 24hrs they should be fully cured.. i left them over night and i realized the next day they darkened so dont be afriad if ther dont look dark enough.they look great still after a nice wash lmao and the only problem i have had was from some dumbass at tire shop who switched the tires 2 weeks ago he knicked up two on them in the middle so he prolly dropped them on their face..
