I got a set of celica GTS wheels and have a set of good 225/50-16 tires laying around and was wondering how they would fit? Its a stock 99 sunfire. I know there a little tall but will they fit? kinda wide I could always test fit one but there not mounted yet.

i think the hub is to small but the tire SHOULD fit.
225-50-16 will fit fine just a lil wider than the 205-55-16 but same diameter.

hub bore of the Celica wheels is too small. 54.1 for the celica, 57.1 for the Cavalier. As for the tires, they will fit, and look awesome doing so.
