I wanted to buy some springs to lower my car because i got my cav sittin on 17's but my neighbor who is pretty knowledgeable with cars particularly with the old school whips says that if I lower the car with the springs I will need to get a new wheel allignment? I have never heard of such a thing so I wanted to see if thats the case Some info on that would be great thanks guy's

yes whenever you lower your car you need to get an alignment done. removing the struts will throw off your alignment and it can cause your tires to wear quicker. also when you lower your car you need to get proper struts to handle the new suspension
I know about the whole alignment adjustment after dropping the car but ive heard that as long you dont drop it lower than 2.0 inches the stock shocks and struts can handle it without blowing out. Is that true. And if its not whats the lowest drop the stock shocks and struts can handle
