i was wondering what would u run with ur cav? i have a 2002 cav. and i am looking for rims but idk if 17's will make a differnt or just go to the 18's? let me know what u think and what u run.
well first off, do things the way you want to do them, not what everyone else says. keep in mind that whenever you get a rim, if you get a rim that has a lip on it, the wheel will always look a size smaller than what it really is.
I have 18x7.5 rim with 225/40/18 tires. I also have a 1.5 drop in the front and a 1.7 drop in the rear.
the front rubs a lttle bit, but I'm reconfiguring my setup. If you check out a post in the suspension forums you can see some people with 18's and a 2-finger gap between the tire and fender. I personally think the stock suspension with any kind of rim looks dumb on a cav. but if u like it go for it.
18's ....

thanks, am going to go look at some 18's this weekend.
thanks for the post

not to hi-jack but how much more "roughness" do 18's add to the ride compared to 17's? especially if you re-do the suspension (lower/shocks/struts)? or is it not even really noticeable?
Not that bad really. Just don't hit huge pot-holes at 55MPH+

18", but since i have like a 3-3.5" deep Lip they look like freaking 17"s.
I've put 350 miles on them, and i already am looking at the 19" trak lites.
hmmm....

Techinically...18's are bigger then 17's, so they fill up more space, causing you to need smaller tires. with 17's IMO you sacrifice looks for more tire. THe bigger the sidewall of you tire, the more cushion. It helps to reduce the "bang" when you hit a bump and is less "rough" I'm not saying the biggness of the tire is all that matters, im just saying it helps.
