Looking at Motegi's site they have nothign listed for 17" tracklites, I was told they are made because a few people have put them on there J's. After hearing this I'm on the hunt for the proper size then I'm gonna try to find where to buy them.
I want 17" track lites, suspension is Koni yellows / ground controls, brakes will be Wilwood fronts, I need to clear the brakes and the suspension with as wide of a tire as possible without rubing. I'm gonna beat the @!#$ of the car so I need it to not rub when turning hard with body lean etc.. Any advise is apreciated.
And since noone checks this forum I'm gonna double post this in Suspension and brakes as well
Im running Trak Lites in 17X8 with 45mm offset and 225/45/17 Azeni 215s. I am also on the same suspension minus the brakes.
They are off Karos red Cavalier, He was running Wilwood front brakes also i believe.
im assuming your keeping the toyo fenders for whatever car your gonna be beating on... they are a huge plus for this setup...
only rub ive encountered is the pass side splash shield towards the top. no worries for me.
what color trak lites do you have planned?

Gravana has them listed on their site, also a set on ebay right now.

I have been looking at the same kind/color but in 19" gravana has on their website. So i know they are out there. You may have been searching wrong since you have the name spelled wrong.
Traklite.

Off topic, but I've always wondered how can people who drive J's afford $1000 wheels? You'd think someone withh $1K to throw around would be driving a better car than ours

you would think someone with $1k to throw around would spend it however they like, and not be concerned with what everyone else thinks.

And that really has any relevance with what I just posted since I tried to get him to spend it some other way? Just to clarify, I think they're nice wheels and not saying "don't get them" or anything. I wish I could afford them ... especially at <15lbs each for 17's.

modding is expensive and quality parts cost money. not to mention those are one of the lightest wheels out there right now.

the way I see it, I can drive a more expensive car but why drive a more expensive car and settle when I can make this car exactly how I want it, either way this is not for a daily driver, I'm building it into a racecar and if you think the wheels are expensive.... they cost less then just the front brakes hahah
ahh cool. That makes a lot more sense. I thought it was more if a daily driver type situation.
some people do use them for daily driving. hell i know on my car my suspension and wheels alone when they were on the car were worth 3k
tracklites 1.0 or 2.0 because they have 17' 2.0s but not 1.0... im sure they might make them but not have it listed on the site... im looking at the same wheels... the 16x7 are 12.5lbs

I didn't know they made a 16*7 in 5*100 pattern.
To the OP, have you considered Rota Slipstreams? They are also a very lightweigth wheel with some decent color options and possibly a bit cheaper depending where you look.
yeah they do... but its 50 or 40 mm offset
Well I bought my tracklites today.
Motegi Traklite 1.0 Flat black 5-spoke, 17X8 size, 5X100 bolt pattern, 45 mm offset.
The next issue is the tires... I'm buying Falken Azenis RT-615..... shoudl I get 225/45/17 or 235/40/17?

race car = 235/40 = bigger contact and patch harsher ride
street car = 225/45 = smaller contact patch smoother ride
The 235/40 is also a shorter tire that will slightly effect you gearing, this can be a great thing with a higher reving motor.
I have 235/40's on my car, sometimes i wish i went with 225/45's for a smoother ride on @!#$ty Detroit streets....

nice choice... where did you get them?
I got them form a wheel wholesaler in Ohio called Elite Wholesale, I actually used the link above that Nity9CavSedanCRJ posted, in there auction it said call for availablity. Wheel peaking aorund at there auctions I didn't find exactly what I was looking for so I called them up to see if they carry what I was looking for, they did so I placed the order.
what are you doing with the rims you have on it now?
the 18's on the silver cav are being sold, the rotas are going on that one and the traklites on the tan one
how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking? the cheapest i found them for is $262.95 US per wheel with free shipping, does that sound like a deal or no.
thast right about what I paid, the whels were little less but had to pay shipping, your totall ends up like $8 less what I paid but I got valve stems included as well.

I pull almost 60K a year, and before I move next month my wife and I have a combined income of near 100K/year. We both drive J's and I've got about $2K into my car. If you handle your money responsibly and have to pay for a house or rent, insurance, food, college loans etc... You soon come to realize that the people out there driving really expensive cars are broke all the time because of how much there spending on the car. My car cost $10K out the door I've put around $2K into it and I've got a car that can compete with other cars that cost twice as much backed up by autocross competition. Seems to make good financial sense to me.

I just ordered the tires, I ended up with Azeni RT-615 235/40/17 I found some detailed info about there tire size, this one bump the gearing a bit as Skilz said but I also found out the the 234/40/17 each save 1 lb per corner over the 225/45/17, 1 lb isn't much thats 1 lb of rotating mass on each corner, better then nothing.
why do the 225's weigh more? I was going with the 225's but if they weigh more, there out.
