Wheel Offset
Tuesday, August 07, 2007 9:23 AM
The wheels I have on the car came with it. Ever since I put on the Road Magnets I've had rubbing problems. Normally when turning, but also really loud clunks (need new front struts). The rubbing, some have guessed, may be due to my offset, but I'm not sure which of these two the offset is. Nor do I know what the stock offset is. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Guessing the offset is one of these, just don't know which...

well its hard to tell the offset without knowing the rim. you should be able to look it up online. i dont know what those 2 numbers you posted are. as far as your clunking, make sure your springs are seated properly or else you will get that clunk/pop noise when you turn.

Well, I e-mailed Tire Rack and was informed the the offset was 40mm. Which is no where on the rim...going to assume I actually have 41mm offset then. What's the stock offset?

40 or 41mm offset is fine. there shouldnt be any rubbing with that. i dont think its your wheels. the only time you really have a problem with offsets is when you find a wide rim like 8 or 8 1/2"

Alright...then it must just be the struts themselves. Thanks for the info.
