I've been on the .org for a few years now and I can't believe I have to ask about hubcaps! Anyways......I had to get my one wheel off cuz I had a flat tire and I ended up pulling out the lug nut caps that were attacted to my hubcap. I have the 2000+ hubcaps so they have the safety feature so people can't steal them. So my question is, are these supposed to come off? I have 3 still in the hubcap, and cannot get the other 2 back in. Can I pull all 5 out, put hubcap on, then install lug covers? Thanks guys.
This happens all the time up at Discount Tire where I work during the week. You have to either push it back in from the front or the back. It is a little hard to do most of the time, but you can do it. No worries about asking cause they are tough to get back in right.
I just wanted to make sure, so when you put the hubcap back on all 5 lug nut covers should be on with it right? I was thinking maybe I could put the hubcap on, then screw on the caps.
even if you cant get it to snap back in, you can still push them through the hole they are supposed to sit in and thread them on the nut. when you go to take them off they probably will come back off the hubcap, but atleast you will have all 5 attached instead of just 3.

Yes all 5 should be on the hubcap before putting it back on.
I said screw the hubcaps last time I got tires. They squeek too much.

Make sure you dont lose the hubcap lugs, they are expensive, I think I heard that they are 5 bucks a piece, lol But yes, they should just pop back in, no need to worry

bah i have so many of them bastards floating around, toss the caps and rock the steelies ftw
Yeah, just pop it right back in.. happens to me all the time at work.
If it were me personally, I would get rid of the damn hubcaps.. those little caps were GM's worst damn idea.
