I am just looking for a decent budget tire that will be good all around. These seem to be my 2 choices so far. Both are in a 215-45-17 going on a 17x7.5" wheel. It's going on a auto 2200 so I dont need alot of tire. I am looking to go with a slight bit of stretched look but nothing crazy.
Falken Zeix ZE512
Or this tire
Kumho Ecsta AST
2009 Ford Mustang V6
I have the falken 512s in 215/40/18. Work good for me in the rain, or if it's dry. Wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.
I am running a cheaper brand of tire called Wynstar Exocet. Most people here are going to tell you to go with Falkens and to stay away from cheaper tires, but I have had these tires on my car since November of 06 and I love them. I think I paid around $368 mounted and balanced. They are Z rated and have a nice tread pattern:
a friend of mine has the khumo AST's in 18's on his civic, seem like a really good tire. the falkens seem to be a bit more summer oriented though as the khumos are still a performance all season.
1997 RedR - ZedR
I have the Kuhmo's. Decent tire for the price, but if you drive on snow or ice, DO NOT GET KUHMO! It is by far the worst tire I have every driven with in the snow.
Falken Rub!
2003 F150 Harley
2003 Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe
I was looking at both of those exact same tires and now I've got the Falkens in a 225/45/17 on mine. They work great in any weather, even uphill in the snow
I've heard that the ASTs aren't the best in the rain, but I can assure you I've hit plenty of puddles in the Falkens with no problems. And the dry cornering rocks (but that's probably cause I installed them when I put on my Gravana's)
So my vote: Falken Ziex ZE-512
I have the Kumho Ecsta AST tires to tell you the truth they don't grip for me at all....would never buy them again ...im actually looking on buying those falken's...anyone know if they grip great in the street?
The only good Kuhmo tire is the Kuhmo MX
go with the Falken
i've got the AST's. no problems so far but we haven't gotten much snow yet.

Why would he rub when everyone and their mother are running 225/40/18, and if it's because of this pic:
Yeah that isn't photoshopped at all
Now that's real...

Good for you give yourself a pat on the back!
He's interested in two different tires so who cares what you have!
I have falken tires and they are pretty damn good set of tires!

Go suck a dick faggot!
Anyways Toyos would be a good choice to look at. Toyo proxes 4, they are the @!#$ and they are way better than the kumhos I know from experience!
The proxes are even good in the snow. Personally that is what I would go with if I were you.
