Stripping paint off wheels
Sunday, February 10, 2008 10:36 AM
I have been working on this for two days now, I have 95-99Z wheels and they have been painted black with what looks like bedliner or something similar. I have been using a non-caustic paint stripper and aircraft remover along with a pressure washer and its finally staring to look half way decent, but I am having a very rough time getting the last little bit off. I have searched and found how about stripping paint off powder coat, or urethane. Know I know on aluminum you can't use any caustic so does anybody have any ideas on how to get the rest off? I have been letting the aircraft remover sit for upwards of 30 minutes and it doesn't help. Thanks for any ideas.

I'm guessing that you don't have access to a media blaster? Glass bead would be ideal.

I would find a local shop that does blasting and having them blast them wouldn't charge much I dont think.

If your anywhere near central PA, send me a PM I'll Media blast them for ya, and even Powder coat them if you want.
