no actually its not, its probably one of the best looking wheels i have ever seen. an all CF eclipse was at the auto show 2 years ago and it had CF rims. sexy looking for sure.

Google: CCX Limited.... I'd love to have a CF car.

Who makes the wheels?
I wanna see a pic.

I talked to the owner of Rennworx and one of the engineers of Dymag @ SEMA, and played around with their wheels a little bit. Definitely a VERY nice wheel, and VERY strong wheel. The finish of the CF is also incredible. The outer rim itself is full CF, while the spokes are magnesium. This isn't CF overlay.

Not cheap either.

Your probably better off spending that kind of money on some performance enhancements that will make up for the weight gain with regular wheels.

Well, the weight of the wheels is a performance gain. So the question is, where do you want to spend your money?

As for the wheels themselves, they had one on display that had been crashed. The race driver completely totalled the car. There was only one or two large chips in the rim edge, and the magnesium had sheared at the bolt face. Awesome stuff.

Understandable, but if you are going to spend $6,000 in wheels. You could spend that kind of money on a fully rebuilt engine and turbo the hell out of it. Just my opinion though, but if he wants to go for the full carbon fiber wheels that would be pretty sweet! I wonder what the weight difference is between the cf wheels and the light weight wheels that Ryan (darkstars) has.

Very true, but I thought we were talking about a cavalier/sunfire. But, in the Porsche case, yes you are correct I couldn't even imagine the price of the labor just to rebuild the engine on a Porsche, OUCH!

wow... and i thought my forged rims were light. i cant imagine a rim weighing substantially less than it in the same size, just blows the mind.

Rollin' on question marks since 07.

i just changed some tires on c/f rims for a motorcycle the other day i couldnt get over the weight. and for just the 2 rims was a hell of alot more then 6,000.

^^^ motorcycle rims and Tires usually cost twice as much as automotive wheels and tires... so that really wouldn't be a fair comparison.
