well i got a couple new tires today, they're Goodyear viva 2's i was just wondering if anyone else has used these tires and if they are decent or not.
its not whats under the hood, its how you use it
2200 soon to be turbo
you get what you pay for
14.82 @ 97 mph
the tires are fine, i used to work in a tire shop, the viva series from goodyear is a tire only wal mart caries, its not made cheaper or anything like some will tell you, its just wal mart made a deal with goodyear, they produce the tire only for wal mart where as wal mart has enough business to sell the crap outa them, no one else has that kind of volume of sales, they are a very very good evytday tire, nothing speacial, but a good tire, they arent performance oriented thou, but will weat good
I've been using them with no problem. I'm actually on my second set.

According to the owner of the Goodyear I used to work at, Walmart orders 20,000 mile tires and slaps like 40,000 mile warrentys. And he would kmow because he bought thefranchise shop he worked for corporate and knows alot of the higherups. Plus I worked for Walmart for like 6 months as a tech befi=ore I got tired of their idiocy. Also walmarts roadhazzard ain't worth crap go to real shop. Walmarts techs arn't even allowed to touch the coolant when doing oilchanges and can't lift the vehicles more than 6" off the ground to do tires. If they don't trust their employs why should you. My 6 year daughter knows more about cars than they do (I have taught her well). If you want decent wearing tire with good performance go to an actual goodyear store and get a set of RSA plus's. Not regular RSAs. The Washington state police use this tire and beat the hell out of it. Trust me I know I had to change and patch enough of theirs while I worked for goodyear. We used to have atleast 2-3 a day with nails they picked up in the median or on the shoulder.

Don't let the punks get to you. If they can't say anything helpful its because they probably
have VERY LITTLE IF ANY MECHANICAL SKILLS . Talking crap is just their way of hiding that
fact. They figure the more crap they say the less likley anyone will know how dumb they are.
Outlaw yeah i agree with you, walmarts a Joke when it comes to the stuff they can do on cars about all they can do is sell you tires and change your oil. And if you need major work you end up going somewhere else, as far as the goodyear viva 2's i had a set and had really good luck with them, not a bad tire at all. Thing that's a bummer for me though is my Ls sedan came standard with 195/65R15 bf goodrich touring tires on it and seems that's all tire shops want to put on i had been looking for a good all season radial for my car awhile back, since i think touring tires are more for sport or performance.
