basically im just wondering if anyone has put a wheel with a 51 mm backspacing on a j body i know im gonna need a spacer or adapter, depending on whether i redrill the hubs, looking at them it will be close to drill them out, but since i will need a spacer anyway, im thinking about having some adapters made that is if a 35 mm backspace will work with an 18 inch rim, i imagine ill be using the 215 size on them, 40 series, i dont plan on lowering the car yet, if i did it would just be a small drop maybe 1 to 1.5 inch drop, doubt id go any lower than that, i love the wheels i have thats why i got them, and i work in an autobody shop where we do several custom jobs like this thats how i know i can redrill hubs, lol, but anyway has anyone put anything like this on one, if all else fails ill break out the plasma cutter and make some one off widebody fenders, i just dont want to do that much, lol, let me knowif i cant get by with a 35 offset them ill be redrilling for sure, let me know if anyone has done anything like this

I have 17x8's on a 38mm offset, running 225-45/17 tire. the only rub I have is at full lock to the right.

im also not that concerned with minor frame rub because i can notch out the frame enough to clear minor rubswithout loosing any structural support

no, your plain wrong, the fronts are on, both ways, i went ahead and got one adapter, just so i could get pics of it, and then redrilled the other side just to show that that also works as well, dont know when ill have the pics up but it will be soon, the side with the adapter fits fine, the side with the hubs drilled needed a 15 mm spacer just as i said it would, everythign clears, NO PERCH RUB, drove around the block, no frame rub, not a whole lot of suspension travel on the roads i was on so we'll see down the road on more extreme suspension travel turning angles if i run into any problems with rubbing the frame or wheel wells

well i knew that which is why my post says " looking at them it will be close to drill them out, but since i will need a spacer anyway, im thinking about having some adapters made that is if a 35 mm backspace will work " everything went good on both sides, will have some pics up soon, of both hubs and completed

I want to see that. I know how it could be done, but I want to see how you chose to do it, especially after running your mouth in the other thread.
