ok, i tried lookin and found nothing. help?
Saturday, September 27, 2008 10:29 PM
so i am wondering if cobalt base model [4x100 lug] is adaptable for the cavy?
like can i swap out new, i guess axels?
or studs, however it works on them so i can have a cav with a 4x100 bolt pattern?
...i found a set of rims from a previous post that i like but they r 4x100 pattern only!
so any advice on if it possible or not???

also whut would be better on a cav, a 7 inch wide rim, or 8? i would probly like 8 but dont want any rub when i turn.
they r 16x7 and 16x8 rims with a 4x100 bolt pattern.
they have diff offsets and diff bores. whut will be good for my car on offset and whut bore do i need on it [remember it has cobalt 4x100 if that changes bore from cavy's size, idk]?

i also would not like to do adapter if not possibe, so if the cobalt swap works, lemme know.
if not can u do a 5lug to 4 lug adapter? that just sounds weird, and possibly not possible.

but thanks for yur help!

sorry, forgot to include link.

these r them.

Scroll down till u See Rota RB rims.

this is just to see whut bore they come in, and the offset they r available in. just if anyone knows the bore i can use and wht offset would be best if this whole cavalier/cobalt thing can work out.

also i am willing to do the work if it possible for this swap, as long as its not crazy expensive.
like if i can get the hubs or axles [whutever i would need] from like a junk yard or something and do it myself i would do a project like this. but if i have to buy alot of new Gm parts caz i cant find a wrecked balt, or it it is too time consuming [like gonna take more than a day or a weekend or something] i cant/wont do it. caz i am going to school and work 5 days a week, and this is my only car and so that makes it my DD. so cant afford to not have a car...

again, thanks for yur help guys!

in the link you posted it shows them with a 5 lug pattern....

and says "Rota RB - Please call us for any colors or sizes that are not listed."

and once again.... 3 seconds on google = http://www.racinglab.com/rota-rb-15x7-5100-35.html

try actually looking for "Rota RB 5x100"

r u sayin this because u think that when i looked for whut i wanted and didnt find it, and u did apperantly in "3 seconds on google"
[...which was not whut i was lookin for. but u can put that one on me caz i did not specify whut size i was looking for.]
i am dumb and cannot do such a project? or is cobalt part not gonna work on cavy?
but, i still gotta call em to see if they have a 16" in 5x100. if they do, woohoo!
whut is the bore size on a cavalier? was the 15x7, 5x100 rim have the right bore, or will i need an adapter?

cobalt and cavalier parts are mostly non interchangeable.

find different wheels and go from there. if they have 16's in 5x100 congrats! if you ask them will they fit a cavalier, you will know immediately everything you need to know.

please tell me your not going with pansy daisy yellow.

no way am i goin with yellow, hahhaaha.
either after i get all the body work straightened out,
its either gonna be painted sandrift mettaclic again, like in sig.
and then it would have either the graphite or black rims.
my other color option right now is a midnight blue with the gold rims.
or black with the gold rims.

my other option i was also thinking about painting the car neon green,
having the interior redone all noen orange, and putting some neon pink rims on it!
hahahahhahaaha! jk'ing about that one!

jbody hub size is 57.1mm which is typical for all 95-05 js. most aftermarket wheels come in like 70-73mm. you'll need hub rings to center the wheel on the hub
