Will 235/55R16 tires work on LS sport rims? front/rear? Thanks.
No, the section width is too big. 235/45R16 or 235/50R16 will fit better.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
235's are too wide for stock ls sport wheels. you'd want a minimum of a 7.5" wheel.

Doesn't the second number (45, 50, 55, etc) mean the percentage of the first number and decide the sidewall height?
Meaning 235mm x .45 = 105.75mm sidewall?
So wouldn't the 235 have to change? Not the 45, 50, or 55? You said yourself the section width would need to change, which is true.
Section width needs to go down to 205 at least so you don't stretch it cuz I believe that LS wheel is only 6.5" wide which is 165mm.
205mm = 8". 205/55R16 will work just fine and is a common tire size.
"Vroom."
"Yo I wouldn't race him, there's not even an interior in his car man."
"Vrooooooom PSSSSHHH!"
"Oh sh*t. F*ck that, dude..."
the 2nd number is a percentage of the width... hence why tinkles recommended going to a smaller percentage of the width to acthieve a similar rolling diameter.
the main issue though is 235's on a 6" wheel.
Yeah even good 205's are too wide for the 6" wheel. My star specs would benefit from going to a 6.5" wheel. Oh well once the star specs are dead in a year or two I'll have an excuse to get different rims with wider rubber.

I've got 215/55/16 on my Z24 wheels and they are about the limit that I would go on the stock wheels for our cars.
