Longer Wheel Studs - Where to Purchase/Part Numbers
Friday, February 17, 2012 2:08 PM
After much debate (new wheels, current wheels, offset, spacers) I think I've decided to pump out my current rear wheels about 1/2" to closer match the stance of the fronts. I'm gonna have spacers made for the rear and at this point ('til I go down to storage and measure tomorrow) I think .5" will be sufficient.

I've done some research on here and have seen some people post about longer wheel studs that "basically" fit with some effort. Just curious if I could get some input from people who've actually tackled this. If the current studs just hammered out of the hub after the drum was removed, what they used for longer studs and if they fit correctly. Thanks in advance, guys!!

In case you're wondering, this' a bad (but good) pic of my "dilemma:"

Well I used ARP extended camaro studs.
The knurl is a tiny bit bigger, but with a good impact gun, they will snug right into the hub.
However, if your going to install them on the front, you will need to grind the knuckle quite a bit, or remove the bearing and hub assembly.

Why not just get hub spacers that go behind the rear hubs. A lot safer IMO

this what i used with my 8mm spacers to clear my calipers. My post from quad4forums.

A stock type replacement for the BCA/National hubs are 610-445 Dorman studs. The holes in my aftermarket hubs measured 14.19mm, the new studs are 14.48mm to compensate for the crush of the old knurl. Pushed right into the hole problem free and now i have 11-12 thread engagement instead of 4-5.

Type: Serrated Stud
Thread: M12-1.5
Knurl Dia.: 14.48mm
Length: 49.19mm
Shoulder Length: 7.14mm
Head Code:
Brand: Dorman - AutoGrade - Boxed

I've got arp all around. stock bearings take fbody studs. national assemblies take evo studs. (knurl diameter is larger on the national replacement hubs)
