Questions about rim polishing
Wednesday, April 29, 2015 1:53 PM
Hello JBO, I've already tried searching this in the wheel/tire forum but I couldn't quite find an answer.
Anyways, I recently bought a set of four stock 15' alloy rims from eBay for a great price(I'll put a pic below). They're not chrome, and they aren't in the best condition cosmetically (scuffs and scratches). My question is can these rims be polished? I know alloy rims like these can be, but I'm just not sure what to use and how to go about it, or if these rims in particular are, for lack of a better word, 'sensitive' to being polished. Any help would be appreciated.

The one in the pic don't seem that bad, I'd jus use a rim polish. Mequires or mothers are good choices

These RIMS can be polished. A machine shop can do it easily - sand blasting it all away and repainting or polishing the wheel. In my area, each wheel costs almost 100 bucks to polish.. I can buy a new RIM for almost that amount. If you want to do it yourself, you'll need sand paper, rim polish and paint.
