Okay, so I've been reading some of the threads and I am interested in fiber glassing my radio bezel. I just got an XM radio that is a clip on type not an actual stereo. I put the mount that came with it on my power window switch bezel but while I am driving I seem to veer off into another lane while trying to change the station. So on to my question: Is there a kit for fiber glassing, a website, or is everything sold individual and figure it out yourself?

Okay....for starters, when you're driving don't change the station!
In terms of fiberglassing your bezel it will be tricky for two reason...1, it's your first glass job; 2, glass won't stick to plastic all too well.
You'll need to drill holes in your bezel and scuff it up really nice. Even adding glass on the backside to sandwich the fiberglass together is a good idea.
for something that size, you won't need much in terms of materials, so you may get away with a fiberglass kit that they sell in stores.
I recommend you check out -
http://fiberglassforums.com There is so much there on that site that will help you with each and every step you will need to take.
you sure the cloth isn't the fiberglass sheet?
No. Are you sure it is? I don't even know what a fiberglass sheet is lol And It is only 1 layer..
The resin makes it solid not the fiberglass.
Go mix up some resin, let it sit, and see what happens.
The fiberglass adds strength, like rebar in concrete.
You heard wrong, the cloth or mat gives the resin its structural integrity. I believe regular cloth is used because its easier to stretch. I've only dealt with fiberglass cloth and mat in repairing my body kit. Either way, resin still soaks into regular cloth and produces a solid structure.
Then why would anyone use fiberglass. It's the biggest bitch to work with, clean up from, and sand.
Because its great for making certain molds and various components. It is strong, wont rust, and it is cheap.
OP i say get a remote lol.

When you first start using it, yeah it's a pain but, as with anything else, once you get comfortable with it, it's actually easy to use.
When I sanded fiberglass for the first time, only used it once.. I had to bundle up head to toe and cover up every part of my body. Then my skin still itched for a few days after.
Cover yourself with baby powder. It'll keep the fiberglass out of your pores and also a COLD shower will help.
talc works good too.
