You have to go to the dealer...I had this exact same problem. I replaced my radio witha panasonic tv and my friend wanted to put the LS radio in his cavy. When we went to the dealer they said it has to be installed in the car it came in and they have to call GM. They cant even get the code without it installed in the car. Sometimes when they sell you the car they write it down in the manual somewhere, check that...otherwise you gotta take a trip to Mr. Goodwrench. <br>
no someone posted before how to do it with out the dealer.. and like i said i had it bookmarked but cant find it now lol <br>

Finally found something to help me. I tried this a few minutes ago but its saying the 202107 and the 106010 code is invalid. anyone know what else I can do?
Thanks!
hey it didnt work for me. Well everything worked up until I called the number and entered the 202107 and the 106010 codes, said they were invalid. do you know what else I can do? Any other codes that might work? Thanks!

206010 ?
It depends what year, and what you're trying to do. If you're trying to put a 2000+ radio into another 2000+ car (other than the one it came in), you HAVE to use a GM Tech2 diagnostic tool to make the Body Control Module (BCM) send the unlock code to the radio. There is NO other way.
If you have a Theftlocked 95-99 radio.. then the above procedure works.

never mind, it finally worked for me. The only problem is I dont have my owners manual so Im not quite sure what to do after you have the code. I hit the hr and min mode but is there something you do before that? Thanks for all your help. Oh yeah I have a 99 Cavalier.
