I recently cleared the rubber off the knobs on my HVAC-and I think it looks nice, but i wanted to paint the inside of them like a light BLUe- I've seen it done, but wanted to know what kinda paint i should use for this--thanks in advance--

I AM the man from Nantucket
stainglass paint works awesome
as long as it's translucent...it should work fine.
just get colored led's...i painted one set of my clear knobs with translucent model paint and didn't look right....got the blue led's behind there now...beautiful
I bought some clear glass paint..now that i have seen how peeps put the blue lights behind the actuall knobs, i'm curious how to do so...what do i gotta rip apart to get back there on my ride? *04 Cavy Coupe

Wsywig nailed it first. Use Testors Candy coat for models. I used a few coats of blue on mine, and they are great. The paint hasn't faded, chipped, got fingerprinted, or anything. Just set the knobs up on a toothpick, and spray in such a way that it makes them spin around. Very amusing and even coat.

yep, buck fifty for a can and it'll work just fine.
why not just spend $5-$10 and have a better looking led setup? just my 2 cents

some people aren't knowledgable in led's and electronics,
a dollar for some paint while getting the same effect is just fine. nothing wrong with that.
Sounds corny, but dry erase markers will also provide the translucent color effect without having to rip the dash apart to replace the bulbs, and they come in a lot of different colors. Peel the rubber off the knobs, and color them all over. My buddy has a 98 fire GT with the red dash lights, and used a red marker. Looks cool, it's cheap, and easy.
Gotta keep on livin', L-I-V-I-N

Pardon me while I laugh at you. HAHA
sorry i'm not a cheapass? it comes out to around 10 shipped....wow that's a @!#$load of money

I can get 40 LEDs for like 27 shipped. Add it up. You'd get 5.4 LEDs. Cheap? These LEDs have lasted a year, and show no signs of stopping. I suggest them to everybody.
"10 shipped....wow that's a @!#$load of a" ripoff, that's what.

One thing I've learned about the .org though... you need to be an ass. By being an ass, you attract attention. Otherwise, nobody listens to you.

Some people don't want the knobs to be white during the day.
