does anybody know how i might go about installing a trunk lid release in my car, it didn't come with one

You have to purchase a trunk release kit, and install it. Nothing too hard.

I carry the Spal & Autoloc kits... Both are in stock. They are basically the same kits. No differences from what I can see.
