jnight32....im sure you've answered this a million times but how difficult was it to wrap your roof? and what type of carbon materials did you use?

Since we're on the topic of CF, I plan on getting a few engine accents from RK sport in Cf. But i want to get creative & make some of my own origionals as well. What kind of CF is mostly used (Pattern, ect..) and how hard is it to work with carbon fiber? I do glass work and I'm assuming that it's just like fiberglassing. But do you use anythign differently? b/c the glass resin turns a yellowish color when it hardens it's not clear. I'm assuming you mould the CF with resin from underneath? then you Clear the top to give it teh deep luster & shine?

how hard was that, and how exactly did you get just the roof part?

I had a shop do it for me, since I don't have any experience working with fiberglass resins. They removed the windshields front and rear, roughed up the surface of the roof, painted it black they laid the carbon fiber down on top of the roof. They mentioned that the laying phase was by far the most difficult. The guy who laid the fiber has experience from laying carbon fiber on the wings of a fighter plane. He knew what we was doing. They used carbon fiber resins from a company called us composites, and I bought the 2 yards of carbon fiber from the people at carb.com, they shipped the carbon fiber rolled in one of those portrait shipping containers. The fiber alone cost me around $70 just for 2 yards.
Although I only got a few months with the awesome looking roof it started to bubble up in several places where the roof had been repaired previously due to hail damage. Heat was a major factor in causing the bubbles to form under the fabric. I probably won't go through the trouble to redo it, and have them rip it off and paint it instead.
