Cavalier Steering Wheel Lever

The tech at the dealer completely scraped the black right off the little black lever that adjusts the steering column while they were replacing my horn pad. I mean he ground it into mincemeat - it looks like hell.

I do not think they are going to pay for it (although I am taking it up with them on Monday) seeing as how they will just lie and say I must have done it.

Any chance that someone out there has one I can buy?

The interior is the only part of my car that is near to being finished, and it really sucks that these guys can't notice that and try to be a little bit careful. You know how it is - the car does not feel "clean" without having all of the new, undamaged parts inside.

I may try a junkyard, but its hard to find late-model Cavs junked around here.

Thanks!

Any half decent dealership should man right up to it...

If I damaged someones vehicle that bad while working on it, i would probably get fired...

I would just go in there bitching until it get fixed...

also, i dont have any for sale- sorry.

were they trying to get it off?

If so, the tilt levers are held on with loc-tite and the only way to get them off is by damaging them.

However, a dealer should have replaced the part, that would've been the right thing to do.
