Just take the screws off the back of the clusters, open it up, and you'll see how it comes out, Just don't try to change the mileage or they will break.

Could you swap the odo on the digitals? I asked the dealer about reprograming and they "don't think they can do it". Who does the programing?

Don:
if its a 2000+ it should be plug and play...no swapping needed

Yeah that would be nice, unfortunatly its a 99. Im swapping 99 to 99 so Id think you could swap the digital odo, but I have been wrong in the past.
Anyone have any experience with the digital odo?

I have the same problem as Don - my '99 cluster is acting all strange and sometimes when I start the car the gear lights will all flash and the needles jump up and down. So I swapped in a new cluster from the junkyard and of course it showed the old car's mileage before the passlock cut the engine. I took the assembly apart and there seems to be a small PCB that drives the odometer screen which then plugs into the main cluster board. There is a small microchip on the mini-board that might hold the mileage because it seems to be permanently glued into the cluster housing. When I get the chance on Tuesday I'll see if I can swap the mini-boards and see if that changes the reading and let you know. While I have it out I may as well solder in some LED's and make all the 00+ guys jealous with their weird needles that don't come off...
