im needing to know how to get the sunroof door down to get it vinyled. Not the sunroof glass but the door/cover that slides over it. i cant figure out how to get it off from up there.

Yes, people install aftermarket sunroofs all the time.

Yes, the headliner must be removed to take the door off.

and who does big jobs like that?

Body shops do it, I wouldn't pay less than $800 or $900 to have one installed, since it involves cutting a huge hole in your roof, and modifying your headliner.

You don't have to take the headliner out of the car to get the sliding sunscreen out. There are six T-25 screws that hold the sunroof window in place remove those and once you have the glass off you'll see the four spring loaded fingers that run in the groove. It pops out through the top, not into the car. Mind you this is how it is in My 97 Z...I just replaced a weather stripping, took the time to lube everything up while I had it out.

When I removed mine, I just worked it out by pushing it up at differnt angles, and then it just came in the car, (while the sunroof was open). I did all of that without taking off any of the headliner.
