RIp the extra padding out from under your carpet. It'll give you a little bit of room

you wouldn't really notice a differance with that - about 5/8" maybe

making new brackets is the best way for sure.

well i took out the passenger side seat and seen that u can remove a bolted down foot long raiser piece and the turn off the spot welded ones on the other side, but the passenger seat bracket isnt the same....do i wanna go get another driver side bracket and use it on my passenger side? i didnt realize how much of a difference this makes when u sit in the car....its crazy and makes you not feel as gay sitting up so damn high...i would actually like to lay the seat flat on the ground but i plan on doing that when i do my sparco seats, thanx guys!

this is a very good idea. i wanted to do the same for my racing seats, but the shop who modded the brackets didnt listen to me. but from how it sounds, you might want to try getting two of the same side brackets. that might work.

I can give a lil write up, I just did it.

Take driver's seat out of car (4 13mm bolts)
Take off the spring connecting both sides of the brackets together (remember how they were on there)
Take the part connecting the two sides of the bracket together (4 10mm bolts)
Take both sides of the bracket off of the seat (4 10mm bolts)

Now for the risers:
The driver side part of the bracket has risers welded onto the sliders
I just put the riser only into a vise and twisted the rest of the bracket
If that doesn't work, u can try a hacksaw or cut-off wheel

The passenger side par of the bracket has a rectangular tube held on by 2 10mm bolts, just unscrew them

Now but both sides of the bracket back on the seat, put the connecting bracket back on then connect the springs and put the seats back in the car.

If any of that doesn't make sense, just post about it and I'll try to clarify

Do you have any pics of it? That would really help. I was looking at mine today, and I still don't know what you guys are talking about.

No, sorry, I did it before I saw this post.

Have you taken off the brackets from the seat?

O yea, the passenger side is different, I'm not sure how to do that one.

nah. it's been raining about all day. I just took a look at them when I dropped my keys and I was already down there. Maybe I'll take them out so I can see what you are talking about.
The risers, are they on the seat side of the bracket, or the floor side?

They are between the slider and the actual seat.

That's why I couldnt' see them then. This won't make the seat come loose if I'm in an accident will it? That's the only thing I worry about.
I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks for the info man!!!

I don't see why it would affect that at all

yeah its a huge difference and for the 2 individual risers that are spot welded....i just stuck a chissle in the crack...took one whack with a hammer and they pop off nice and clean...once u take the seat out and unbolt the bracket you will see what we are talking about exactly....i will put money on it....its very easy and you will love it!

Holy 10 minutes Batman!!! It really only took 10 minutes.

Ok. I took pics, but I don't want to hear how dirty everything is, k? j/k I'm gonna base this of of 97redgt's write up. Only difference is I didn't take the bracket apart.....

Begin:
seat still installed....

1- Take driver's seat out of car (4 13mm bolts)

2- Take the bracket off of the seat (4 13mm bolts).

3- Gather any spare change or old McDonalds french fries that have accumulated in the seat bracket.

4- Now for the risers. You will see two small risers on one side, and a long bar riser on the other.

Risers:

Long bar:

One side of the bracket has risers welded onto the sliders. I took a flat head screw driver and used a hammer to drive it between the riser and the bracket. Popped right off. Your method may differ, but whatever works for you.

The long bar riser has two 10mm bolts holding it on. Remove these bolts and it comes right off. No need to put the bolts back in.

5- Put the bracket back on the seat.

6- Reinstall seat in car.

Seriously. I put the seat back in, and was like, no way did this make any difference.....then I set down in it. WOW. First thing I had to do was readjust my rearview cuz I was looking at the headliner now. It definitely makes a difference.
Command seating my ass. I'll take low and slow anyday.

Hope this helps. It's as easy as Tabasco's mama.

thanks for adding the pictures.
Yea it really does make a huge difference. My head is no longer hitting the headliner. It's not worth doing the passenger seat though, I can't tell one is lower just by looking at em.

O yea, I only took the slider apart because it was easier to use with the vise and the two sides kept moving and bending the middle part
