Ive been fiberglassing for a week now, and everytime i do it it wrecks the brush... I tried putting the paint brush in paint thinner but it didnt really help at all. Anyone know how to stop the brush from getting wrecked everytime i do a layer of glass???

I do believe that the only thing is Acutone. (Sp) other then that got to the dollar store and get brushes or go to walmart and get a couple for 45 cents apiece

no point in trying to salvage the brushes...just get some cheap ones and toss them out when your finished...I buy a bunch from the dollar store / walmart...I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to clean them..that's just too much work to do.

I use plastic spoons. I find that the foam brushes fall apart very fast, with the spoon I can grab resin out and put it on the fiberglass cloth. Thats for small projects though, for larger things like sub boxes I'd get some cheap brushes, not the foam kind though.

Use Acetone it will clean them some what. They will never be as clean as new but good enough to use a second or third time. You just need them to push the resin into the fiberglass. It doesn't need to look pretty.

as said above cheap brushes,

also u don realise you can lay down several coats of resin/cloth at a time. u dont have to do one layer then wait for it to dry before u start another, that would take forever. unless your piece is completly vertical you should be able to get 4 or 5 coats done all in one shot.

ya, i buy sets of cheap brushes at big lots. i got like 5 or 6 brushes, all different sizes for like $4. I ALSO USE A RUBBER SPATULA TO SPREAD RESIN IN LARGER AREAS.

oops hit the caps button, my bad.
