For all those guys that have glassed their dash and consoles and what not: Where did you pick up your glass products? I have been to all my local hardware store and they either don't sell the stuff or it cost $50 for enough to cover like 1/8 of my dash.
I have also tried Auto body store around here but have run in to the same issue... Is this common? Does fiberglass really cost THAT much? I was thinking it would prolly cost about $300 or so to redo the console and dash in the car but with those prices there is no way...
alot buy it online, i have the website here somewhere, and order likea gallon of resin etc, if you are buying the little small repair kits at autozone or whatever its gonna be costly, buy in bulk to save lots
Shifted (KickAzz) wrote:Boating supply shops should have it. I don't know what you are buying, but thats pretty freakin expensive stuff there.
Good! I'm not crazy!
Maybe, anyone know of a good online shop to buy fiber from?
Also, Anyone know roughly what kind of yardage I would need to cover a console and a dash?
go to pep boys. the one near me sells a gallon of resin for 20 bucks. you can get a huge sheet of mat for like 6-7 bucks and then all you have to do is buy hardner which is like another 5 bucks (depending on the size tube that you get)
I would, but the nearest one is like an hour drive...
ya i wanted to ask about this too.. I went to a place and they wanted 45 candian for a gallon of resin with no hardener....is that a good deal? or is that a little pricey?
He was also gonan give me a garbage bag of fiberglass matt..like extra pieces for free but I am using cloth for my dash and door panels.
