I fiberglassed the top half of my headliner and never thought about doing the back also, The headliner kept its shape and fits good in the car, Well I was wondering that if I dont fiberglass the back half if the fiberglass will come off of the headliner its self when it gets hot or cold? or will it cause it to crack since it is only glassed on one side! thanks
From what you are saying I think you are meaning should the frontside and backside be glassed and the answer is no. Just roll the glass and matting on around the edges and you should be good.

thats what I wanted the hear. thanks zach
So if i do this it wont peal off from heat or anything
It shouldn't. The reason it does on other pieces like metal is because they expand and contract at different temps. The cardboard from the headliner shouldn't contract or expand enough to hurt anything.
What i did was brush on resin all over the fabric that came on the headliner. Once that got hard i just layerered on 2 coats of Fiberglass to keep it light. Sanding it was a biiotch! especially were the visors screw in at. As long as the glass has something to bond to, like some fabric, you good!
can you just spread resin, and use no glass mat? since the fabric seems like it would soak up the resin pretty well.

if you just spread filler over it wouldnt it eventually crack over time?...personally id rather sand it down smooth than use filler
i think he meant use filler over the fiberglass, cause bondo is easier to get smooth then fiberglass, later

even if its on top of the fiberglass....wont it crack in heat or cold eventually
it is possible but very unlikely if done correctly, later
