glass will stick just fine if its plastic....if its vinyl then you will have to take a razor blade or somethng and strip the vinyl off....
if its plastic - be sure to rough it up a little and drill holes...and glass the back as well to hold it better ( the glass will go thru the holes
)
Yeah, fiberglass will not stick to plastic, therefore you have to drill holes and 'glass both sides. I'm not sure if it adheres to vinyl though, I'm thinking not...
it is plastic.
what size holes and how far apart from each other?

glass will stick to the door plastic, just scuff it up very good and for safety maby drill a few small holes

i used a bit about the size of a pencil. i drilled holes in random patterns and distances, and worked fine

i suggest not fiberglassing over vinyl unless you want a big mess lol
why dont you make some edging or what i mean is build from your speaker rings close to the hole size..you can do this with plastic, fiberglass.. just build it up close to the hole cutout.have a piece of plastic - covering the outter parts of the hole, to keep the fiberglass getting on your door panel. and build fiberglass next to the plastic or hole, after its sanded, filled n leveled, then get some pressed on clips that will clip it from behind.. that way no mess, no worrying if this is going to stick or not.. and it'll be pressed tight against the hole size and hardly nobody will know it was a hole to begin with....

scuff the panel with 60 grit, and then drill small holes, i drill holes that are small. bout 1/2 to 1/4 the size of a pencil. let the fiberglass resin get into the holes and onto the backside, put a layer of cloth on the backside and resin it on. this will hold fine, you now have a fiberglass sandwich, and it will hold. you allreaydy have a hole in the door so stop fretting and just try it. worst case is you have to buy anew door off of ebay, i got a pair of doors for under 100$ would have got them for 50$ but i got in a bidding war with another jbo'er lol.

i got real worried when i first pulled my doors all apart when the car was maybe a couple weeks old. i started thinking what the heck am i doing, then i said " well u cant put it back might as well keep going. dont worry about those type parts , they are easily replaced if u do screw up. and even if u do screw up. u would be able to break and pry the fiberglass off and u could just start over.
