L.E.D.'s in the vents? HELP PLEASE
Sunday, April 10, 2005 4:00 PM
this has probably been answered more than once, but I can't find anything with the "search". anyways, i was wondering how you do this.

i know the popularity of "night glow" is dying, but i love the way it looks. i just saw one of Raptor's pictures and saw the l.e.d.'s in the vents.

can someone do maybe like a 5 minute diagram in like ms paint or something for me? (i'm a visual learner )

i know how to wire l.e.d.'s, it's the power source i'm confused about. how do you get the wires into the vents?

also... just curious but i was wondering if turning on the heat in my car really high would ruin/melt the wires and or l.e.d.s?

ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

the wires dont go into your vents the bulb is the only thing that will be in the vent....you take off the top of your dash and drill holes in the vents the size of the bulb and then simply plase the bulb in there and run the wires on the outside of the vents underneath the dash.

be sure to use resistors...probably about 480 ohm

WHY?

Simplicity? Cost? I'll never, ever understand this reasoning.

Why would you purchase two LEDs for 19.99, 14.99, 9.99 or whatever price they're selling for, when you could get those same two LEDs for 1.20? Why? It doesn't make any sense to me.

LEDs are not difficult to work with. Saving yourself a little soldering is not worth up to $18, in my opinion.

100 for $10?

This off ebay? I avoid ebay for LEDs like the plague. I got a batch from there and they all burnt out within 6 months.

I refuse to source from anywhere but LSdiodes now, because I know they're reputable and their LEDs are of top quality.
