Is there some sort of glue that holds down the passenger airbag cover? I notice on mine that there is a brownish substance around the edge of the meeting of the cover and the vinyl...
8 torx bolts underneath the dash, four on each side.

Besides the 8 screws, GM did put some sort of glue on the corner of the airbag cover. It might be all around it as well IDK.
Really? That glue on mine must have rotted or something, because when I took out those eight torx bolts (note: four are shorter than the other four, pay attention to which side they go in), my airbag cover literally fell into my lap.

its prolly goop from when they layed the vynal down...mine fell right out too, just go ahead and take the bolts out and if it doesnt fall out then im sure a genious wouldnt be needed to figure out how to get it out from there
maybe I will look noob but how the airbag can deploy itself if the cover is bolted ? sound weird lol
The bottom edge and sides break away.

ok thank, that suck, I wanna do a swap color and I just realized how compliqued it look to remove the cover...damn. by swap I mean contrast Tan/black, not swap all the interior (I don't have the skills to swap the complete interior)
skills? haha its only 7mm screws holding you back
haha btw is there a way to remove the pass airbag cover by the glovebox or another solutions than remove the entire dash ?
You just have to remove the top of the dash. Its only 5 minutes worth of work(after you have done it a few times).

Nice! I think i'll try coz I need to swap the front plastic trim of the dash who's near the windshield too, crappy tan interior ...why GM decide to put some crappy color inside?! lol
To swap that little "trim" piece next to the windsheild you need to swap in a WHOLE dash(its part of the main dash).
