this goes out to all of the people wanting to put screens in there steering wheels or producing products which take out the airbag and replace it with a screen

the important parts are highlighted

you will probably be in for a good hefty fine if caught... it wont be as much as these because these are by big companies and they want to set an example with them because there stuff is more advertised and influences alot of people

i dont beleive so...i dont see why it would be....as long as nobody sits in the middle seat you should be fine...as far as i know its only illegal to NOT WEAR the seat belt

You can remove any seatbelts you want, as long as that seat is not occupied.

Seems like that NHTSA article might be from 2002. Not very current, but I could be wrong.

yes, but you have to realize that it is being done by a COMPANY for an INDIVIDUAL owner. if you PERSONALLY do it yourself, then technically, you cannot be fined for it if you classify the vehicle as OFF ROAD PURPOSES ONLY. unless of course you are caught by a cop driving . but most likely if its your personal property, then you cannot be fined seeing as its saving your life and not endangering others. its not like catalytic converters that purposely harm others when taken out.

true....but it is proven that 14.9 percent of people in accidents with 1st generation airbags ( which covers airbags up untill 1997) were severely injured due to the airbags... this being a proven statistic.im going to print off the survey and take it into my insurance company and pursuade them to still give me the safety discount or whatever its called if i remove the airbag..since mine is a 1996 i can argue that it is actually safer with the airbag removed

really? and whats the percentage of lives SAVED with those airbags in a suitable collision? 50%? 75%? 15% versus the lives saved percentage isn't gonna earn you jack. and by the way, your insurance agent will LAUGH in your face when you tell him that airbags hurt people more than help people. and then he'll increase your policy for you removing your airbags. and then laugh again.

85.1% lives saved by the airbag. i'll take severe injury over death.

its been illegal to remove your airbags for a while. most important is that if your insurance is unaware of this, they could possibly void any claim u have for injury, viper hit on the tv in the wheel deal. unique and wcc could avoid that in the future with a simple letter stating they are in no way responsible for accidents caused by it, just like you sign a piece of paper at the tint shop when u have your windows tinted darker then legally allowed.

and besides all that unique and wcc are a bunch of hacks, i think they got fined heavily because the judge new they were hacks and is trying to shut them down lol.
