Ok I bought a 3HP air compressor and I went a place called auto home paints and they said the guns that they sell wouldn't work good with mine..they need about a 5HP air compressor.....The other guns that I was lookin at were at Canadian tire, about $100...how do I tell what guns will work with my 3HP air compressor?
ok sounds good and another question I had is when I am using the high build primer..how long should I wait between coats? same for base and clear
...Thanx
and one more quick question what kinds of paint do you mind best to use on the interior..or does it really matter?...and I don't mean krylon fusion
I'm looking into starting to learn how to paint, where would one go to get, the gun, compressor, paint etc..

with high build primer you should wait anywhere from 4-6 minutes in between coates. as for color and clear it all depends on how thick your coats are.
the compressor you bought is good for a air brush or a small air tool not a hvlp gun or a lvlp gun, they need more air and the compressor will be running all the time just to keep up with the gun
so you need a good compressor i personally use a 10 hp 50 gal in my garage and it`s enough to run my air hammer
all the paint manufatures do have a interior paint made just for plastic i do suggest using a interior paint not the exterior base and clear but that`s your choice and your money that will be wasted
here in ill conventional guns are illegal and you can only use hvlp or lvlp guns
so look on ebay find a hvlp gun go to a junk yard and get some metal to practice on
painting is not easy it`s a art and a talent needed and many of yr`s of experience to paint a car
if you put base and or clear and or sealer and or primer on heavy all your doin is askin for trouble it will take ALONG time to dry base coat might lift or wrinkle nothing will dry right
today`s paint produtc are not made to be put on THICK OR HEAVY but made to be put on in a medium film build to much film build all your doin is causing your self are HUGE problem
i personally love PPG products but everyone has their own personal prefernce in a paint system, i think ppg is one of the easiest to use and the product line i think is the best out there
and what snsgood is talkin about are the product sheets that are out for the product ask for it when you buy any paint product if your not sure how it is mixed or drying times so on and so on
bottom line is painting is not something that can be learned is a day it takes yr`s of practice to learn the in`s and the out`s and the little tip`s and allot of patient to make a great painter
can i haz bondo
