As some of you might know I have my interior stripped, I want to dye the steering wheel Black, I cant seem to find any dye anyplace. can some one give me some help
I think there is a brand called RIT that you can find in most grocery stores. I'm not sure if It will work on vinyl though. Do a quick google search on the brand RIT.
One word, SEM, awesome stuff, Lenko introduced me to the stuff when I dyed my vert top. Check out
Your Auto Trim Store and supposedly we get like 10% off there too. Bottom of the left selections, SEM Color Coat.
wow, thanks dude, stuff looks like it will work and its pretty cheap.
type in "j-body" for the coupon code for a discount
it should work... i just ordered from them a week ago and it worked...its either j-body or jbody
I bought VHT brand color dye from a local store here,
http://www.summitracing.com also sells it.
I haven't used it yet, but according to directions, it takes 72 hours to dry on vinyl (also works on cloth) then must be washed with mild soap and water.
I know it's JUST a Cavalier, and I'm sorry if I hurt your ego.
Ah, that was something I wanted to add. Thanks for reminding me, Jason.
The Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric color/dye doesn't hold up very well. It flakes off the wheel, getting all over your hands, clothes, and anything you touch. It's kinda sticky (static electricity sticky, not lollipop sticky) and it's hard to get rid of.

SEM Color Coat is the shiznit
I did my entire interior from tan to black with it.. except the seats. Even the carpet!! Oh, and the top too...!
SEM Sure Coat is even better!! It's an elastomeric coating for leather or vinyl... seat covers, etc.
Worked for me!! I recommend their products to all!!
