Starting to paint the interior of my car and was wondering if anyone in the Wv area could possibly help, willing to throw some cash in
This should be in your regional forum..... Its most likely going to be moved.
then let the people who deal with moving posts deal with it. why waste your time griping at people who accidently put it in the wrong forum? if your not gonna respond to his question then leave him alone and dont worry about it.
if i was around that area i would help you with your painting. but im in arkansas. painting isnt real hard. start with something small and see how it turns out. then work your way up to bigger or more important stuff. you learn and get better as you go. you can always redo it if it turns out bad. just sand it back down and start over. you could also go to a junkyard and get some spare peices to practice on. wont cost but a few dollars if you wanna take that route.
I've done a bunch of pieces but all it takes is practice. The key to interior painting is that less is more and SAND it SMOOTH! All that plastic looks great without all the texture. This takes some extra time though, I did the piece in my SE-R yesterday. I took the most off with 180 grit and an electric palm sander, then wet sanded it smooth. 2 coats of cheap primer, wet sand any bumps, then 2 or three coats of color, then clearcoat. If you look at my brothers
cardomain page, I did his interior this way (even though he took the credit. Good luck.
PRACTICE. You can do it. It is really fun then you can help people too. Sorry though, I'm in Missouri.

Hey Adam, how far east in Arkansas? I'm in NW Ar, near Fort Smith...
If it's not too far I might need some help soon
Christ, I'm doing the same thing tomorrow, too bad you weren't closer.
I also plan on sanding the texture crap off.
I wasn't planning on clear coat though. I'm using plastic paint from Autometer
When I read the directions for the first time, if it suggests CC, I will.
If not, the interior will be satin black.
In any event, good luck on the project.
I know it's JUST a Cavalier, and I'm sorry if I hurt your ego.
people seem to have it right when they say practice. but just some food for thought why not hit up the junkyard and use the peice you were planning on doing. that way if it comes out great you can use that part. not to metion that if @!#$ goes screw or you need to old oem stuff you have the orignal.
