Quick question guys, I just installed an Autometer Volt meter in my car, but theres only one problem, when the power is off in the car, it still reads 12V, and it does not go to Zero Volts, same problem with the light in the Voltmeter, it will not turn off.....i wired the Positive terminal of the Volt meter to the positive terminal to my amp, and the negative terminal is grounded to my amp as well, the lights of the voltmeter are connected the same as well..anyone know how to fix this problem so that when the car is turn'd so will the Voltmeter?¿?
you'd need to wire it to a power source that is turned on and off by the car's ignition. probably the easiest way to change your setup now would be to add in a switch somewhere along the way. either that or find a power source that's controlled by the ignition switch.
How about all you guys that have volt meterz in ur cars? how did you install them to make them work properly¿?
i had one, so i know what im talking about. you'll need to wire it to a 12 volt source that is turned on and off by your ignition.

i don't remember, i think it was going to the speedo cluster. you can use that, one that goes to your radio or hvac. any of those should work fine, just take a volt tester to find out which wire is 12 volts when the car is running, and it should turn off when the car is off.
is there anywhere faster/easier i can just attatch the postive wire 2!?¿

like i said, you can put a switch on either the positive or the negative wire, you just have to remember to turn it on when you want it and off when you don't.
Tap into the wiper fuse in the fuse box. Bottom row, last one on the right.

I would just use the brown wire, switching 12V on the passanger side.

I have mine on a switch in my center console. I just switched it indepensently, easiest way I saw to do it.
