Ok so my solenoids for my doors are becoming quite a pain in the ass..what they do is the part of the solenoid that gets pulled in..the arm thing..not sure what it would be called.
That part keeps gettin rusty colored and gets stuck and then the poppers stop working. I have taken them out several times and used sandpaper to clean them up...then used dry graphite for the lubricant but they keep getting rusty and getting stuck...
What can I do to stop this stupid problem...I know that I was told not to use w-d 40 but it's summer now and I won't have to worry about freezing..would that work better or is there something else I can do to fix this.....oh ya....I will never buy autoloc again..they are just too much of a pain in the ass...thanx for the help guys
to add to this...I just pulled them both out and the graphite lubricant made almost like a thick layer of hard black stuff...I think that might have been holdin them down as well.
your not the first person to complain about auto loc i personally like using spal kits
i dunno i never had a problem like the one you are describing why not remove that old kit and go with a spal kit
i am goin to stab at it here almost sounds like water is gettin at the kit causing the rust i dunno i am tryin here
got pic`s of what is goin on ???
can i haz bondo
I would love to buy another kit except for the fact that I got no cash right now
no pics of what's goin on but it's just that shaft that goes in that is rusting....
I tried w-d 40 this time..guess I'll see how that works.
i bought my kit from a guy in ohio i have been using for a while for 100 bucks
ya i really dunno dude my only guess would be the water is gettin at them some how
can i haz bondo
ya that would be mine to I just don't get how it's gettin in there if it is
grab some dielectric grease (sp?)
and put a thick layer around the top of the shaftt... thats what i had to do... was going through solenoids like crazy..... this has seemed to help
exesive fire is my pimp...
i have al 4 drs shave on my car , n these damn door poppers suck. i have a prob with mine the middle shoots out n they they break.. ive been throgh about 12 if not more... different companys to.
my suggestion, pull it all apart, find something to cover the upper part of the setup to keep water out, sand the shaft piece down a few thousandths if possible and put a thin layer of sealing paint on it maybe? or powder caot if possible... cept on actual contact surfaces of coarse
