Gauge illumination.... post your pics

As the title say I would like to know how is the illumination (from the sides or backlight, I mean come from the numbers and letters) of stewart warner gauges and phantom, sport-com and z-series gauges from autometer.

I have checked both sites, and don't have this particluar info. They says that have green, red, yellow, ....etc... illumination colors, but from the sides or backlight? how looks? Post your pics if you have it.

I am looking for backlight illumination gauges that match my stock cluster (green and yellow), or maybe blue and red over a black face, but that doesn't be too cheap as some Ebay units and doesn't be so expensive as Autometer Nexxus, Defi Link and some Blitz ones. Inclusive some info about changing light colors pattern, using high intensity leds, etc.... would be interesting too.

Again as the title say, pics and ideas are welcome.

Thanks,

I don't have any pics, but I can describe it.

White backround. Numbers are a really nice neon blue. Illuminated teal circles around needles on tach and speed. With the turn of a switch, numbers turn a neon green.

I'll see if I can find a pic. I know they are called "Euro-Style" reverse glows. They have a white back, and the numbers are dark blue. They came with a switch so at night when they light up, the numbers will either be neon blue, or a neon green.

To find a pic I go

sorry for the late response guys. i got the reverse-glow gauge faces on ebay.. theyre made by "racing dash". easy install... just point the needles up and slide face on. the pillar pod is the 03-05 cavy pod from Lo-tek (gaugepods.com). The gauges in the pod are the A/F ratio and nitrous pressure gauges from he Autometer Cobalt Series line of gauges.

^^^those guages are on ebay. I have the same set in my car. I got them for like $22 shipped I believe. You have to do a little ghetto wiring though to get them to lighten/darken like stock gauges.

hows that? i found when i hooked up my a/f gauge that tapping into the dimmer switch would cut out all interior lights while hooked up, as if it were taking all the power.

Rick has the same gauges I have. I had my friend Paul install them for me. They come with their own dimmer switch, or you can wire it to the stock one. Regardless, they look great for the price they are

Yea theyre ebay ones around $25. Wiring was pretty simple just wired them the headlight switch circuit. It has its own dimmer and on off switch pretty nice gauges, will look really sweet when I get my cf bezel from bluecav.

Hey friend can you post some info about your wiring trick to get the gauges lighten/darken like stock ones? are you using normal bulb or led in your aftermarket gauges? Because leds takes way less current than standard incandescent bulbs. Also I don't know if it could make some variations in light/dark levels. I would like to know what do you do to solve this issue?

Regards,

Darn I looked on abay, but there are alot of different ones. Which ones are yours Rick? if you don't mind me asking. I just want to make sure they fit because most of the stuff on ebay is not for the 03/04's. Or are they the same as the older Cavs?
