Ok, so I went and used the faqs to paint my fuse cover and loved how it came out so I'm ready to do the rest of the interior. Now my main concern is with the airbags. It seems as though you have to use extreme caution with taking them out. I dunno, I've done stuff before as to taking stuff apart and messing with electrical stuff but this just seems like theres alot that could go wrong. To those of you who have taken everything apart before, is it really that hard? I got everything else out today and am planning on doing the rest tommorow. Is there anything else to really look out for thats not mentioned in the faqs? Thanks for any comments/advice in adavance.

i did a search for airbag cover and came up with <a href="http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=45&i=49976&t=49804#49976">this</a>
Thanks. I guess I worded it wrong. What I am planning to do is take the entire dash out like in the faqs. That big huge pieceof plastic so I can paint the trim closest to the windshield and on the bottom part of the dash. My question was pertaining to complete airbag removal and then putting them back in when everything is painted. Anything to look out for?
Thanks
Rich
I don't see why you'd want to disconnect and remove the airbags just to paint the interior. The airbag itself is under the dash basically so when you remove it, the airbag stays when the dash comes off. If you really want to disconnect it, I guess you'd have to find a specific FAQ on it.
Disconnect your battery, pump your brakes a few times. If you do this first, and go remove your dash top, your airbags will be ready to come out. I just removed mine without even bothering with the airbag fuse. No problems whatsoever.
As mentioned in his last post, he wants to remove his dash (the dash itself - the massive part, instead of just the dash top) to paint it. To do that, the airbags must be removed. As well as the steering wheel, HVAC, headunit, etc etc.

Thanks. Awesome FAQS section by the way. I was just warry about the whole recentering of the sticker/coil thing and the airbag light not blinking 7 times when it comes back on. Dont have the extra money right now to be dealin with that.
Thanks again.
Rich
Eh, it's pretty easy to avoid. Before you get started, lock your steering wheel into place while the car's off, and you should have no problems.
