I just started puring resin on the back dash piece. The carpet material soaks it up alot. Any i was wondering you you guys got it to fit right? Cuz i tried it after i aplied one coat of glass and its tight. But it allways was. Any more suggestions or how to is great.
thanx
Jon
i think you should have taken the carpet off first. then just glassed over the board that was left.
how is it not fitting right? you will probably have to trim down the edges if they are too big.
i disagree cannon...
I would of did the exact same thing as you have done, and apply a 2nd and third layer of resin, and sand sand sand, then bondo for a glass finish...
as for the sides, why not trim the edges, and go over them with some fiberglass mat?
Might be a silly question, but you pulled the rear side interior panels, right?
And yeah, we left the carpet on when we recently did one...
Yea i pulled the side panels. Cutting the edges was what i was thinking also.
But i also noticed once the resin dried the back middle piece thats near the bottom of the back window curled up a bit. Unless it was like that before? which i forget lol.
Mind posting some pics of the work in progress?
I dont have a digi camera. The onely time i can get some is when i use the g/f cam. Sorry
