well.. i dont know if you guys read the post i made earlier, i had tried to install my reverse EL Glo gauges.. well the install went good.. kinda sucked at the end, because once i turned my car on, every gauge worked.. accept for my tach. No big deal since i use the engine pitch to control my shifting ( been using that since i bought it in march ).. now the other problem im having, is that sometimes when i hit a bump or something, like a dip in the road, my interior beeps at me and the entire gauge panel and HVAC panel lights go off..this all started happening after i got my alarm installed.. idiots.. now i thought installing these could help fix that.. but it didnt.. I went to go turn em on at night, and nothing happens.. the needles light up ( looks really cool actuly.. ) and then nothing on the backround. so i said screw it, another thing to trouble shoot.. But heres the kicker.. i had wired it to the fog lamp switch, but i had forgotten that the black wire needed to be grounded ( shows how much of an electrician i am.. ) and just spliced the red and black wire into the fog light switch harness.. so one night it was foggy out, and i turned on my fogs.. well, i noticed it started blinking.. i was like Wtf.. so i took the little dimmer switch they give you with the gauges, and i started messing with it, I could actuly get my fog lights to flash.. lmao.. so now i have to go in and re-install the wiring, anyone have any hints on where i can wire the guages too? I may just keep the red wire there for power, and just ground the black one, but if that doesnt work, anyone else know where to wire it too? I'd wire it into my steering column, but i cant get access to the harness. Any help is appreciated guys.

wire it to your ciggarette lighter wires.
i wired mine to the gauge cluster fuse, so when i turn on my lights the gauges turn on!!

hmm.. i am probably going to end up re-wiring them and wire it to the cigarrett lighter.. Now does anyone know if i have to ground the black wire to a screw or something like that, or can i just splice it into the black wire from the lighter?

You can "borrow" a ground from another known source - no problem there.
Dude, just hook your "hot" wire to the brown wire that goes into your turn signal lever (on 03+ Cavs). This will turn the gauages on when the headlights go on, and not subject you to any other problems.
Cigarette lighter will NOT work as it is an "always on" power source.
