Painful question!!! Should be a Newbie Question:(
Monday, May 23, 2005 11:48 AM
This is painful to ask but i'm looking for a link to a "detailed" instruction on how to fiberglass parts from the interior of my car. I have already painted the dash and stuff but i'm looking for the glassy polished look that i don' t have right now. I've seen it on here before but i just can't seem to find any information on it. I have never tried it but i consider myself pretty mechanical. Should be able to figure it out.

Thanks

what peices do you want shiny? If its plastic then all you have to do is sand it, there is no need for fiberglass. If you want the vynal pieces shiny, then heres a tutorial that tells you how to use fiberglass. Clicky

Thanks a bunch, that's the exact page I was looking for. I had seen it earlier but couldn't remember where I had seen it. Also, what should I sand the plastic with if I want the glossy look. Do i have to prime after I sand or can i just do color then clear coat??

Thanks

sand starting with around 100 grit then work your way up to 280 or so. make sure you get every bit of grain down smooth on it, then prime it with high build primer, then wetsand the primer with 400 grit. then paint it. if done right it will look exactly like it would with fiberglass.
