I am planning on getting some small red neons for my interior i only want them to come open when the door is open, how would i wire them up?

u would have to wire them up to the dome light, or another light that comes on when the door is open
depends on your yearmodel i know on my 95 for that you can only tap into the Dome light or the 'ding ding ding' thing the wire is in the front near ur left foot when driving but if u were needing directions on how to go about hardwireing them in read the FAQ

So in other words to go about having them come on when the door is it is a PITA? maybe I should just go with a switch, what do you all suggest?

no no i didn't say it was a PITA i have a strobe taped into my dome and it took me about 3 mins to do it all ( find out the live/+ and the ground/- and tapinto em and mount my strobe ) srry if i made it sound that hard but i would personally go w/ a switch that way u got more control unless u go w/ both, and a switch and the door wire .

where is the wire leading to the interior light at though? I would hav eto find it near the floor board so it would be easy to run the wires, do you know where i could find this wire at?

dome light and interior lamps..go right to the fuse box for your power and have your ground go to an existing screw under the dash~
u add the switch inbetween the door ding/light/fuse and the light and u add a + to the switch that way when u open ur doors it comes on and when ur doors are shut u can turn it on but the dome will come on also if u go on the same wires
