Bondo-Glass or not

Ok, I have already resined my rear deck where the speakers are located, and I have a can of Bondo-Glass. Should I use that or some other type of fiberglass material? I already have fiberglass mat.

Hey I'm in the process of glassing my rear deck too, well almost ready for paint. What I did is glassed the whole deck and then put a layer of bondo(body filler) over the whole thing to smooth everything out then sanded it smooth. After I primer it I plan on having to spot putty it yet too to get it perfect so there's no pinholes or what not. Hope that helps.

id just throw down a layer of mat. i tend to use the kittyhair (what we call it) on areas that i need to build up higher the filler allows (1/4")

you shouldnt need any fiberglass reinforced filler. Just go pick up some good filler that sands well like rage gold. Regular bondo body filler sands like crap.

i used the bondo-glass to mold in some speaker grills...then fiberglassed over top of that.......the only use i have found for it is to mold things in before fiberglassing since it works a little better since its thicker

I was wondering if this Bondo-Glass Reinforcred Filler can be used on the doors as well, or do I have to put some resin down first?

OK from the questions i see here.. i'll try to answer & comment.

blueawakening04 - Lay down a few sheets of the matt and let that dry. Once it's nice and hard, then go over it with the Bondo glass. It will fix imperfections in the glass. Make sure you sand it tho nice and smooth, so you can find high & low spots and what not. might take a few applications of the bondo glass. I work with it all the time. then prime/sand & paint

Tyler Steinhardt - Bondo body filler when it gets really hot liek it will in the back of your cavy, it will get hot and pull up. I thought the same thing when i was doing a dash for my 2200 cavy last year.. i had to rip all of the bondo filler off and then reglass it all. it was a Pain in the butt. Fiberglass doesnt get spongy or soft in heat.

So jsut do fiberglass matting first w/ lots of reisin a few times alla t once if you want. then sand, sand sand sand sand! lol then bondo glass it'll all turn out fine & dandy. If you have any other questions, hit me up w/ an email and i can try to help out however i can, I work with fiberglass just about everyday now. hahah
