shifter has too muck boot

i was being stupid and i cut my shifter and no it doeant improve anything just lower and harder to shift. while anyways i cut twice measured once and it really short i cut 3 inches or more but the boot that goes around it is way to muck is there a way to take up the slack? take out the consel and remove the boot? any hepl is appreiated and the slack kind of interfears with shifting

first of all its "much" not muck

second the center console comes of easily...4 bolts and the whole things off

yo you dont have to be rude man sorry i dont spell check. what about the slack or just remove the boot completely? and i thought there was only 3 bolts one in front and two towards the backseat

it is important to me but when i type i dont look at what i wrote and you picked up on that good job man. what should i do with the extra slack? or take it off completley

Just take it off. The whole boot is meant to cover the whole shifter and if you removed most of the shifter, then just lose the boot as well to make it look good.

you dont have to take the whole center dash out!
just press the sides of the boot and pull it off the center dash!

i think its muck.. the origional boots are mucky and cracks and rips too easy.
