I've been sanding my interior and I am about to prime it, but the body shop I had my car repaired at left me with a question. He stated that automobile paint doesn't stick to plastic and he would have to buy special adhesive. True or not? I know you all are using Krylon Fusion, but I want my interior color to be the same as my exterior color. Any ideas on this comment? Plus, how many times should I prime and sand?
Thanks,
Josh
use krylon fusion primer, and paint on that? anyway, hopefully someone with a little more insight will come along, but i know there are special seperators to go with paints, when you are painting the outside and i imagine they would use the same thing on something like a plastic bumper... hope that helps alittle, i'm not exactly the guy to ask but i figured sonce no one else has, i'd give some input
"I live my life a quarter mile at a time..." "for those ten seconds or less I'm free"
false. i used the exact same automotive paint as on the exterior, after i sanded it smooth we used a high build primer on it wich i wetsanded with 400 grit, then the body shop sprayed it just like the would a car. its been 2 1/2 years now without one single paint issue.
if you got the panel sanded smooth it should only need a coat of two of high build primer. i would suggst your body shop spray the primer as well.
