A Pillar removal
Friday, June 10, 2005 8:13 PM
I have looked through this site and didn't see any postings for this. I have also looked through the Haynes book and did not find anything. How do I remove the a pillar so I can install a pillar pod with gauges. A friend of mine and I have looked at it and it seems like if we pull too hard we will break the plastic. Has anyone done this and what is the easiest way to get it off. Thanks for any help in advance.

just pull, it's held on by 3 clips. it'll just pop off. besides, if you're replacing it with a new gauge pillar, who cares of you break your old one. lol.

Instructions:

1) Open Door
2) Grab ahold of pillar
3) Pull

It's easy, lol. I'm surprised you didn't know that!

It works best if you grab near the top where it meets the headliner.

Thank you to all three of you but, number one it's just a pillar pod not an A pillar with pods. Number two if I had known that why would I have asked. I just wanted to make sure before I broke something that would have to be replaces by factor which as anyone knows costs and arm and a leg. Be friendly and just answer no need to be flamers geez. Thought Cavi owners were better than those ricers.

I broke one when I pulled it off to paint. Got a new one at the junkers for like 4 bucks

dude, chill. we're just having a little fun with you. relax.

as far as the "ricer" comments, that has absolutely nothing to do with how well someone helps someone else out. comments like that are just plain ignorant.

actually all 3 posts told you exactly how to remove it. and they really didnt rag on you much at all. most people would have made fun of you and not bothered to tell you how to do it. so ease off some.
