red cluster lights
Wednesday, June 08, 2005 6:02 PM
i took out my cluster and took off the silver backing on it, pulled out the green light socket, removed the light, got my new RED 194 bulb, cut it as needed, and put it back in, put the cluster back in the car, and it glows up like it always had, NOT RED... what do i need to do to make it glow red? and if it involves removing the needles, can i get some help with that? thanks all... later

Hi,

Not sure what car you're referring to, but here's an article from the guy at V6Z24 that talks about bulb changing:

Maybe this will help?

Maybe you need to change the bulbs for other color that mixed with the green mask of the cluster glows red. Could be an idea. But I don't know what about the needle glow color.

Friend, internal cluster bulbs should be normal incandescent transparent or white bulbs, right? Then green light of the cluster and yellow color of the needle are done by color mask inside the cluster. This mask should be green and yellow. Then maybe using some violet bulbs you can get the final red color you are looking for. Another idea is use red led bulbs.

Friend that is only an idea, maybe I could be wrong.

Regards,
