Any suggestions on where to mount an xbox, i just got my in-dash and i want to put my xbox in my car. I dont want it to be really visible tho. If i cut out the back of my glove box is there enough room behind that to put it in there, or under the passenger side seat? Any pics of where you have mounted yours would be awesome.

take apart your xbox and make a custom box for it to fit your glove box..
^^^^ is that hard to do? I dont wanna mess anything up, because i dont know much about computer electronics.... I can make the new box no problem, i just dont know how to rewire everything.

depends on the path ur taking with your car. if your having the xbox in there for roadtrips with friends, then i'd probably try to find a way to put it in the glovebox or something to that nature...if its going to be more of a show car or u just want it in there to run a dvd while ur at a show or something, then u could do a custom mount in the trunk, and get extenders for the controllers so u can still play it in the cab of the car....the only thing is when its in the trunk, its not super easy to switch games or dvd's...
i think it would be kind of cull to mount it up under the rear deck..that way no one would see it..and if u really wanted to, u could switch dvd's or games by folding down the rear seat ...i dunno....its a nice hiding place i think

true, but i was mainly referring to the one that was a little further down the page, i think he said that was his finished product. Plus, i dont want to remove my pass airbag, i dont want someone to lose their life because i want an xbox in my dash.

LOL, Im an anti-airbag person I dont belive in them thats why i get rid of em, well the wreck where all they did was bust my winshield got rid of em(im the one half way down)
As far as mounting it, an Idea i had for mine it make a fiberglass rear deck, swich to 6.5"s and have it IN the rear deck if that makes any sence:

Thats my old idea, also you can Mount it under the rear deck facing in the car so you flip down the seat..
If push comes to shove buy a SMALL PC case(like one of the square ones) and just transfer the xbox into it and mount it between the back seats.
and last but no least put the xbox in the glovebox by making a new box, buy an extended ribbon cable and power cable then mount the dd rom like a cd player in your din.

I think im gonna mount it under the rear deck.
i would do the refab thing and put it in the glove box, but i would have no idea on how to hook it all back up. any write ups or tuts on how to do this?

i modded mine and its just like putting a computer back together.
im planning on installing mine in my dash but im not cutting a big ass hole in the back. as soon as i get my setup installed ill post it here.

cant mount xbox in trunk and run dvd drive to dash. the ide cables used on the xbox drives can only extend to 2 feet... and longer than that and the signal will be lost and it will cause data corruption. also you cant buy a computer shell and put xbox parts in it... also cant slim down case... its the mother board that makes the thing so damn big... im still working on solving this.
also you cant convert to usb. cause xbox only recognizes usb 1.0 and 1.1 not 2.0. the transfer on 1.0 would be so bad and you have to install the firmware on the xbox (which is more work then anyone is willing to do.)

Just mount it under yer driver or passenger seat (be careful under pass seat....air bag module) run wires through center console and u could even get those controller extensions and run them thru the center console and mount the ends that accept the controller flush in the center console somwhere, then u could just plug them in there.
it doesnt fit under the seat. ive tried. i still havent mounted it anywhere permanent, im gonna figure it out when i start on my interior.
xbox in car=pointless.

and by the way... i have a media center laptop so dont talk like ur hot @!#$...ur a noob
there IS room behind the stock glove box. I'm sure it would fit if you cut the back out.
that would be my ideal place to mount it, out of sight, but still easily accesible for the passenger.
and if you do mount it in the trunk...i would hope your using a modded one so you don't have to switch your games and movies all the time.
maybe but ive already got an idea for it.
