You have to go to the dealer...I had this exact same problem. I replaced my radio witha panasonic tv and my friend wanted to put the LS radio in his cavy. When we went to the dealer they said it has to be installed in the car it came in and they have to call GM. They cant even get the code without it installed in the car. Sometimes when they sell you the car they write it down in the manual somewhere, check that...otherwise you gotta take a trip to Mr. Goodwrench. <br>

I couldn't find the post, but here are the instructions I got from a post a month or so ago. I'm sure it's probably from the same post you bookmarked.

Radio override code

~ press the numbers 2 and 3 at the same time for about 10 seconds
~ a 2 or 3 digit code will come up
~ press the am/fm button for about 10 seconds
~ another code will appear
~ dial 1-800-537-5140 and enter 202107 or 106010 followed by the # sign
~ enter the 4 or 6 digit code from your radio followed by a *
~ the phone number will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code
~ enter this code into your radio just as your owners manual tells you to - use the hour and minute buttons to put in the unlock code

Hope that helps.

206010 ?

It depends what year, and what you're trying to do. If you're trying to put a 2000+ radio into another 2000+ car (other than the one it came in), you HAVE to use a GM Tech2 diagnostic tool to make the Body Control Module (BCM) send the unlock code to the radio. There is NO other way.

If you have a Theftlocked 95-99 radio.. then the above procedure works.
